Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: November 3, 2026
These Terms of Use govern access to Glyphometer's website, character counters, text-formatting tools, and related content (together, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service provides
Glyphometer is a free, browser-based writing utility. It measures text using several common counting methods, estimates limits for social-media publishing fields, and offers optional text transformations. The Service does not publish posts on your behalf, connect to your social-media accounts, or provide a guarantee that a third-party platform will accept content.
2. Your content and responsibilities
You retain whatever rights you have in text you enter. Using the Service does not transfer ownership of your writing to Glyphometer. You are responsible for the content you create, edit, copy, or publish, and for obtaining any necessary rights or permissions. Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with the rules of any service where you later publish your text. You may not intentionally interfere with the operation or security of this website.
3. Counts and automated corrections are estimates
Character limits and measurement methods can change and may differ by account type, app version, server, or publishing method. The displayed measurements are drafting aids, not official platform validation. Formatting tools may introduce mistakes, remove meaningful characters, or change the meaning of a sentence. You should review all changes, particularly for names, translations, code, important communications, or legal and professional writing.
4. Local storage and privacy
Editor contents are processed in the browser. The Service automatically saves a draft in your browser's local storage; you can remove that draft with the Clear button or browser settings. The Service does not provide cloud backup or recovery of your work. See the Privacy Policy for details about technical network requests, storage, and third-party services.
5. Third-party services and independent status
Glyphometer is an independent utility and is not sponsored, endorsed, or operated by X, Bluesky, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Mastodon, or other platforms mentioned on the site. Their names are used to identify publishing fields. Links to outside services are provided for convenience; their content, availability, and policies are outside Glyphometer's control.
6. Availability and changes
The Service may be modified, interrupted, discontinued, or corrected at any time. Features and reference limits may be updated without prior notice. These terms may also change; the updated version and effective date will appear on this page. Continued use after revised terms become effective means that you accept the revised terms, to the extent allowed by law.
7. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Glyphometer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits nonwaivable consumer rights.
8. California law
These terms are interpreted under California law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, to the extent that choice is permitted. Applicable federal law and any nonwaivable consumer protections continue to apply. No mandatory arbitration clause or class-action waiver is imposed by these terms.
9. General
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply as far as the law permits. A failure to enforce any term does not waive the ability to enforce it later. These terms do not create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
